El Pilar de la Mola is a village on top of a hill, and, ride-walking our rented bicycles, we thought we would never get there. When we reached non-vertical ground the first thing we passed were the pines, then fields of flowers, and finally the small town and market. We read later that this was the highest point in Formentera.
