89% superfine alpaca and 11% recycled polyamide
Knitted from a sustainable yarn that is 89% superfine Alpaca and 11% polyamide, alpaca is soft and durable as well as naturally wrinkle and stain resistant. Ideal for small children - or parents with small children! - or just people who want to live their lives unencumbered by sweater steaming or frequent hand washing.
We selected alpaca yarn for these and many other attractive qualities, one of the most important being its sustainability. Alpacas natural habitat is agriculturally unfriendly, and where they do graze, they only nibble the tips of grasses and other plants that make up their diet, meaning that root systems are not damaged and can easily grow back. This, combined with the fact that their feet are padded (rather than hoofed), means that they are gentler on the landscape and vegetation than other fiber-producing animals like goats and sheep.
Loosely knit in a cozy brushed yarn with a lightweight yet chunky collar, these sweaters are wearable across most seasons.
