We designed The Silent World as our tribute to Jacques Cousteau. From our notes on episode 6 of his documentary series The Undersea Adventures of Jacques Coustaeu: A young fur seal named Christobal, temporarily living aboard the Calypso with his brother Pepito, strays into a fisherman’s net. The fisherman, not quite knowing what to do with the young pup, sells him to a family grieving the recent death of their dog. They keep Christobal as a pet in the backyard pool, until the Cousteau team tracks him down and collects him to return to the wild.
