We selected hemp rugs with sustainability in mind, and with this sense of purpose and optimism set about designing. Our inspiration was the landscapes which nourish and protect us; it is time to return the favor.
Hemp is an ecologically friendly plant that requires little water and no pesticides to grow. It is also renewable and biodegradable as well as naturally antimicrobial. And very durable. If the flat weave rugs are pleasantly scratchy like your sweetheart’s stubble, our hemp rugs are more like a pirate’s braid. They are rustic, yet refined and look fantastic layered. But above all, hemp is the perfect fiber for the future we are embracing.
This rug is from our A New Day rug collection. You can read about the inspiration behind these rugs, or view the lookbook here.
As with all our rugs, color may vary slightly. This is especially the case with these rugs, as the hemp rope they are woven from differs in color as all natural fibers will. And because of the variations in the rope, the dye will also vary. We celebrate this as part of what makes natural fiber special.
A note on color: the lookbook images may have been brightened and lightened and may not accurately reflect the true colors in the rug. In some cases lookbook photos are from a different factory or dye bath. Please always refer to the photos on white ground for the closest possible color match.
