Our Deadstock rugs are produced exclusively using leftover yarn from our production orders as well as the orders of all the other designers our factory works with. Sometimes there is a lot of yarn, sometimes only a pound. We try to use up as much as we can - sometimes to a tenth of a kg - for as many rugs as we can, often embracing colors and yarns not ordinarily found in our collections. They are limited edition and explore reimagined color ways of some of our favorite styles.
This design originally appeared in our Aviary, 110th St Queens collection.
Aviary: You can find the Aviary in a spectacular geodesic dome at 110th St in Queens. A walkway spirals through the open air dome leading you through treetops; below you can see and hear the highway. Designed by Buckminster Fuller for the 1964 World’s Fair and nestled between the elk exhibit and Grand Central Parkway, the Aviary is at once nostalgic and futuristic.
